Perth Airport worked with TRCB to complete a series of upgrade and refurbishment projects that would improve its operations at the T1 International terminal.
The T1 Common-Use Self-Service (CUSS) Kiosks project was commissioned to address current and future needs at the T1 International check-in hall. Perth Airport had recognised the hall had reached capacity during peak periods, limiting growth and constraining flexibility to cope with disruption. Airlines requested CUSS technology to be integrated at the hall to provide an efficient and high-quality check-in experience while reducing operational expenditure and improving time performance.
User experience was at the heart of our response. The CUSS kiosks and bag-drop facilities are integrated in an efficient design that enables an intuitive check-in process from start to finish.
The architectural response draws inspiration from natural Australian timbers and textures, with highly functional form developed through a rigorous consultation process with Airport stakeholders. Kiosk totems, clad in Victorian Ash, support wayfinding through digital signage while turning a procedural environment into a warm and welcoming space.
The result is an efficient and inviting check-in hall that enhances passengers’ experience, improves operational performance and remains open to the future.
