On Thursday afternoon the team at TRCB was treated to a studio presentation by celebrated Perth architect Ralph Drexel.

Ralph is renowned for his contributions to Perth’s architectural landscape over decades. He is also known for inspiring generations of architects (including TRCB’s own Fred Chaney, Graham Taylor and Leigh Robinson) as a lecturer at the University of Western Australia.

Ralph discussed highlights from his illustrious architectural career, including Loreto’s 1970 Koolyangarra Primary School, two houses on Koeppe Road in Claremont, and the heritage-listed 1968 CBH Building that now houses our TRCB offices.

We were delighted to welcome Ralph to the studio, and to learn about the place in which we work from the architect who designed it. His presentation was marked by a love of design and an exuberant and collaborative spirit.

We thank Ralph for generously sharing stories and insights from his outstanding career, and for his inspiring message to ‘always keep playing’.
