Mt Lawley Property Holding Trust approached TRCB with the task of transforming a collection of ageing retail premises into an urban precinct that combines food, beverage and retail tenancies with high-quality civic space.
Central to our design approach for Beaux Lane was a respect for the site as we found it and to the history and character of Mount Lawley. Features of the existing building have been retained, exposed, and adapted; both hard and soft materials have been selected to respond to context.
At Beaux Lane today, foot traffic has increased, and multiple new tenancies have been invited into the space. This site has been activated, creating a new urban hub for both locals and visitors that strengthens Mt Lawley’s sense of community and creativity.
